This course is about automatically detecting the extent of Postharvest Physiological Deterioration (PPD) on a cross-section of cassava roots. The course discusses two methods of doing this task automatically, (1) using a web application where the images can be uploaded from anywhere and results can be downloaded and (2) a desktop application that allows the user to annotate and alter the results from the automated analysis of the image.
Section gives an overview of the PPD its importance, the current methods of doing PPD analysis and the automated methods.
In this section we describe how to use a web-based application to do PPD analysis.
Semi-automated desktop analysis
Here we discuss a desktop version that allows annotation of the PPD results as well.
In this section we discuss general troubleshooting guidelines for the PPD applications
