This course is about automatically detecting the extent of Postharvest Physiological Deterioration (PPD) on a cross-section of cassava roots. The course discusses two methods of doing this task automatically,  (1) using a web application where the images can be uploaded from anywhere and results can be downloaded and (2) a desktop application that allows the user to annotate and alter the results from the automated analysis of the image.

  • Overview

    Section gives an overview of the PPD its importance, the current methods of doing PPD analysis and the automated methods.

  • Web analysis

    In this section we describe how to use a web-based application to do PPD analysis.

  • Semi-automated desktop analysis

    Here we discuss a desktop version that allows annotation of the PPD results as well.

  • Troubleshooting

    In this section we discuss general troubleshooting guidelines for the PPD applications
